Countries that have Hosted Olympics
The Modern Olympics is a set of popular sports, inspired by ancient Greece. It is the leading international sports festival featuring summer and winter games in which thousands of athletes from around the world represent their various countries in a set of different games.
It is considered the foremost sports festival in the world with over 200 participating countries. It is held every four years, alternating between summer and winter games.
The Olympics games started in 1896, held in a set of summer and winter games celebrated at four years intervals known as the Olympiad. There have been 29 summer Olympic games held in 23 cities and 24 winter Olympic games held in 21 cities, with 3 summer and 2 winter Olympic games canceled due to World War.
The game has been primarily hosted in Europe 30 times, America 13 times, twice in Asia and Once in Oceania, with Africa one of the major continents to have never hosted the competition.
