The FIFA World Cup 2022 is just around the corner, and the tension is getting hotter as the day fast approaches. The 2022 FIFA World Cup is set to kick off on 20th November 2022 and it would be the first winter world cup and the first time the world cup would not be played in May, June, or July. The weather is expected to be hot and sunny thanks to the middle eastern weather of Qatar.

A total of 32 teams qualified and have been placed into 8 groups of 4 teams each. There has been a lot of speculation about which team is likely to take home the trophy this year and some of these predictions follow the FIFA ranking table.

The FIFA World Ranking is a ranking system introduced by FIFA consisting of all men’s national teams in football, positioned based on their performance, with the most successful team placed top. The system was introduced in December 1992, and the top spot is currently held by Brazil- serving as the longest at number 1-  who qualified for the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

The table uses a point system, where points are given to each team based on their performance and results in all FIFA-recognized international matches. The table is also an important aspect of football, as governing bodies use it for tournaments and drawing seedlings orders.
